Raising Rottweilers is a very complicated task and only experienced specialist can be trusted in selling you a puppy. Rottweilers cannot be just pets; they are faithful friends and family members. These dogs should be treated as your own children; to become good
citizens, they require early socialization and special training. It is not recommended to buy such a dog if you have small children. All children in the family should be at least 12 years of age.
These dogs are not suited for an apartment lifestyle, as they are rather large and require regular exercises. You cannot leave a Rottweiler on a chain or let it roam free. It is very important to spend much time with the
puppy; otherwise it may be difficult to train in the future.
With Rottweilers, only positive methods of training are possible. You should not scold the dog for too long. On the other hand, ignoring the dog's misbehavior may be dangerous, because the dog will become difficult to control.
Puppies require your love greatly; they should be cuddled and petted as much as possible. The guests and friends of the family should also cuddle the dog and play with it often. If the puppy is socialized with various people, it will be tolerant to strangers. Rottweilers should learn that humans are friends. In the wrong hands, Rottweilers often become too dangerous. Some people keep such large and strong dogs
for prestige or for enhancing their image. Such people encourage aggression in their dogs. Because of such irresponsible owners, many people consider Rottweilers to be a dangerous breed.
